Redeemer Mercy Ministry Clarkston

What we do:

Redeemer Mercy Ministry Clarkston assists the refugee community in nearby Clarkston, Georgia, in a variety of ways:
– assist families with basic food needs
– help individuals learn English
– provide counseling services
– help refugees navigate immigration and other administrative processes, such as getting a driver’s license or applying for a green card

Most important, we share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Leadership

ROPC has practical insight into the needs of refugees. The church’s pastor, Zecharias Weldeyesus, was himself a refugee, having fled for his life from Eritrea in 2009. The leader of the Clarkston ministry is another former refugee, Melaku Tamirat, who came to this country with his two sons in 2019 to join his wife, who fled Ethiopia in 2013 because of political strife.

Ways to volunteer

– Teaching English skills
– Praying for an end to the COVID pandemic to allow more in-person interaction
